It's that time of the year again when we bid farewell to our interns and wish them success in their future as data practitioners. In typical ExploreAI style, the interns will showcase their work from the past three months, and we invite you to join us in celebrating their achievements.

Equipping students for real-world challenges

Our courses equip students with the skills to solve complex problems, be adaptable, and manage projects effectively. The internship provides students with an opportunity to apply these skills in real-world scenarios.

The intern projects are designed to offer relevant work experience, insight into the daily life of a data practitioner, and collaboration across different skill levels. With our intern projects, we have multiple objectives in mind.

We aim to:

• Improve the quality of our work within ExploreAI
• Enhance productivity
• Develop new products or competencies to stay ahead of the curve

Our ultimate goal is to produce well-rounded individuals who are ready to add value to the workplace. We achieve this through carefully thought-out projects, granting intern teams autonomy, and leveraging the expertise of our experienced ExploreAI community for mentorship.

Impacting the real world: Intern projects

The projects are designed to tackle real-world solutions and not simply end with the conference, and as such, we’ve seen the impact from them.

A team of interns designed a model to detect fibre poles from images to make it more efficient for telco companies to develop and optimise their infrastructure.

We’ve had an intern team develop a Large Language Model chatbot for an asset manager that empowers them to better serve their clients and provide accurate responses to their queries. This became a proof of concept that one of our teams pitched to the client.

The impact of intern projects extends to many more domains, and the conference is a great platform to see it firsthand.

From internship to career advancement

After completing our programme, we’ve seen graduates go on to add value within ExploreAI Enterprise, as part of our Academy team, or go on to do amazing things with external organisations.

The ExploreAI experience equips graduates to go into a variety of roles within the data space such as:

• PowerBI developers
• Data Analysts
• People-oriented roles that leverage the skills obtained within the internship.
